Since its creation in 1961 the Ecole Superieure de Danse de Cannes-Mougins Rosella Hightower has become one of the world’s premier professional dance schools in terms of classical ballet, contemporary dance and Jazz training.
Each year, over 150 students of all nationalities (aged 11 to 23) are being trained to embrace a career in the world of dance. The ESDCM provides a pluridisciplinary training and a unique range of courses (from professional dancer / interpreter to dance teacher) including numerous performance opportunities, many of which through the Cannes Jeune Ballet (CJB) company.
In addition to its artistic training, the ESDCM provides integrated academic courses from secondary to university levels.
The School also offers recreational dance training that caters for different levels of dance experience: some 150 students (aged 4 to 16) are enrolled in beginners and orientation classes.
Besides, the ESDCM workshops welcome from 300 to 400 students each year during the school holiday periods (excluding Christmas Holiday).
The School facilities include state-of-the-art dance studios, boarding and accommodation structures, a restaurant and classrooms for academic courses, all within the only European campus entirely dedicated to the world of dance.
The ESDCM’s partnerships with professional dance companies, among which Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, or international competitions as Le Prix de Lausanne, maintain a high employment rate of graduating dancers.
Located in the heart of the French Riviera, in Cannes, the ESDCM headquarters are sitting on the shores of one of the most beautiful bays in the world. Nestled between mountains and sea, enjoying 300 days of sunshine a year, Cannes boasts a rich historical heritage and an intense cultural agenda.
